For over 50 years, Jim Vanier was more than a mentor; he was the heartbeat of our community. He believed that "kids shouldn't have to pay to be kids" and every child deserved a safe place to play, learn, and grow—regardless of their financial situation. Inspired by Jim's philosophy of Practice Random Acts of Kindness, The Jim Vanier Youth Fund was established to seek out ways to lift up local families, support youth across the upper valley by providing the resources and financial support necessary to keep them active and engaged, and foster community involvement to spread hope and compassion throughout the Lebanon community.

The Jim Vanier Youth Fund represents an enhanced, expanded version of the beloved Pat Walsh Sneaker Fund. It stands in loving remembrance of Jim and Pat—two of Lebanon’s greatest treasures who dedicated their lives to our youth. By merging their visions into this permanent endowment, we ensure their lifelong commitment to our community continues to burn brightly for generations to come. Guided by Jim Vanier’s enduring philosophy of PRAOK (Practice Random Acts of Kindness), our mission is to ensure every child has the safety, resources, and support they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
